Phygital - Utility Company Project

I helped lead a large multi-media city project for an electric and gas utility company for COP26 (UN Climate Change Conference 2022).

The client wished to showcase how they will tackle climate change and achieve net zero by 2050, using physical and digital experiences in an interactive hub at COP26 in Glasgow.

I began this project creating mood boards and storyboards for client approval and then moved on to 3D grey boxing a city (of the near) future until we had a feel for what the end result could look like. After this, I created almost eighty 3D city assets (as well as kit-bashed buildings) for the interactive digital experience; before then stripping everything back, to use some of the same models as a low poly diorama for the interactive experience's menu. This same low poly diorama was then segmented into sections by another freelance artist, for 3D printing for the actual real-world physical hub. I helped 3D print dozens of these 'jigsaw' piece models, as well as, construct the entire 3D city. I also took part in testing and bug reporting the complete interactive experience.

Overall, the team was very pleased with the final product and the work was well received at the event. The client was so pleased, afterwards they installed the interactive experience in their company headquarters in London.
